The ancient hamlet of Trowan dates from the 1300s and is clustered around its original well. It is part of one of the oldest farmed landscapes in Europe having been settled from pre-historic times with evidence of occupation dating back as far as the Iron Age.

Trowan is ¾ mile to the west of St Ives in a spectacular cliff-top location with extensive sweeping sea views. It is part of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that stretched to Zennor and beyond.

In the 19th century Trowan had a population of over 100 but gradually the houses fell out of use to the point that the whole hamlet was derelict and abandoned by 2005 when it was purchased by Mango Homes.

Each of the historic granite buildings at Trowan were different with fascinating histories ranging from the 1500s to early 20th century. Since 2005 each of the 14 houses have been individually restored to create a idillic hamlet of houses and cottages.
